Roger Chidester passed away peacefully at the age of 83 years old in Fairport, NY, on August 5, 2023.

Roger was predeceased by his parents, Merle and Phyllis Chidester, his wife, Anne Kay Chidester; brothers, Gene Chidester, survived by Ida Chidester, and Doug Chidester, survived by Carol Ferguson, sister, Virginia Wood, survived by David Wood, and stepdaughter, Beth Carson.

He is survived by step children, Mike Carson, Sarah Celentano (George Roy) and Heidi Carson; brothers, Ed (Marcia) Chidester, and Robert (Mary) Chidester; sister, Mary (Bob) Youngs; many nieces and nephews.

Roger was in the Army in Germany for 3.5 years and while he was there he did extensive traveling. Roger graduated from the University of Rochester with an electrical engineering degree and worked at Xerox for 39 years until his retirement. Roger was an avid gardener. In his later years he played the saxophone and joined a group of fellow musicians. He enjoyed photography and doing puzzles and was an avid dog lover. He will be missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, August 11, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at the Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 1975 Baird Road, Penfield. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
