I remember her well from the bowling league. At Fairview Lanes, she would pick out a ball that was an alley ball and still bowl with a better average than I did with my specially drilled ball. Don Nyquist

I was one of Marilyn's "projects." Our mutual friend brought me to Marilyn's attention. Our friend contacted her to tell her that I had moved to East Rochester.
--Rosie was moving to the area--take care of her. Marilyn called me and started the process of introducing Rosie to the organizations that Marilyn enjoyed--Rosie's world opened to the Fairport organizations in which Marilyn was involved . . . Marilyn's church, medication classes once a week, and finally the weekly group meetings of the men and women that Marilyn had brought together--"Friends at 5." The friends were an interesting and fun group--meeting each week starting at 5:00 p.m. Everyone brought a snack and Marilyn would have wine for the participants. If they wanted something else--they could bring it. Marilyn would be a happy and fun-loving hostess who drank her Manhattans She would read letters from former Friends or an article that she thought the others would enjoy hearing.
I would not be able to attend Friends due to health issues, but Marilyn would keep me posted on the happenings of other "Friends at 5" and when I turned 90, Marilyn encouraged the other "friends" to send me cards. Marilyn will be missed by so many people. There have been a few discussions on the continuance of Friends at 5 but the major feeling was that it would not be the same without Marilyn--perhaps there was some other way we could remember her and her wonderful presence. She loved her family, her grandchildren and loved telling of the newest great grands, her very special own club "Friends at 5" and other friends, If there's an afterlife, Marilyn is organizing "Friends at Forever" right now. The base membership will be those "Friends at 5" who have passed before Marilyn. I'm sure they've been waiting for her. Farewell friend Marilyn . . . your departed friends are waiting . . . they've got Manhattans prepared in one of your favorite glasses. God bless Marilyn Williams and God bless all those who love her and will miss her.

My memories are all sweet. Marilyn was a blessing to everyone she ever met. She used to tuck me in bed with a story each night, and showed her love in so many ways. She will be remembered as a kind, joyful, positive person and friend of all

So sorry to hear of this sad news. What an amazing woman she was and left quite the legacy to live up to! So happy we had a chance to know her, even if we only met a few times, it felt like we've known her for years. So enjoyable to have a conversation with and loved her sweet personality and wisdom only someone in their 80's could share. She was beautiful inside and out. Our condolences to you Mickey and family. Love, The Walters Family
