Clara Gatto Blaho of Canandaigua NY ~ 8/11/1925 - 5/17/2023

Clara Gatto Blaho 97 of Canandaigua, NY passed away peacefully at Aaron Manner Nursing home in Penfield NY on Wednesday May 17, 2023

She was predeceased by her parents Antonio & Theresa (Ascolese) Gatto, her sister Rose King and by her grandson Robert Blaho.

Clara is survived by her husband of 74 years, John (Jack) Blaho. Her children Laurence (Margaret) & David (Jennifer) Blaho and Barbara Grosch; Grandchildren Nicole (Justin) Triassi, Justine (Jason) Barr, Thomas (Kasandra) Blaho, Victoria (Corey) Mortimer, David John Blaho and Alyssa Grosch; GreatGrandchildren Landen & Olivia Triassi, Jameson, Jorden, Jaylene & Jocelyn Barr and Esmeralda Mortimer; many nephews and nieces.  

Clara was born in Brooklyn NY where she and her family lived in her fathers apartment building, along with all her cousins, aunts and uncles. Even though her immediate family consisted of only her and her sister and parents Clara grew up feeling part of one large family. She loved her cousins dearly. 

Clara graduated from HS in 1943 and went on to work in retail eventually working for Sears & Roebuck for over 20 years. After retiring they moved to Canandaigua NY where Clara was very active in her community for over 30 years. 

All services will be held privately for the family.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Dementia  Society of America in Clara’s name.
