I am so saddened to hear of Steph's passing. She became my very best friend in third grade in Norwich, NY, and we remained lifelong friends even though in our adult years we lived far apart and almost never saw each other and communicated now and then on a Christmas card or on Facebook. When we did speak, it was like no time had ever passed. That's a true friend. I am ashamed that I was not aware of the seriousness of her condition. We last spoke in '21 and she never let on. If it were me, I likely would not have either. But I wish she had. I would have like to visit one more time.
My best memories of Stephanie are our love for playing dolls -- embarassed to say we played dolls well into our teens, but it wasn't just play. We had elaborate storylines for our doll characters -- we should and could have been scriptwriters. It was a regular Peyton Place. So many fun times we had. Love you, Steph. You were the best and will always be dear to my heart.
