Obituary of Robert L. Lamberts
Died at the age of 96 on 1/25/23. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, of 71 years, by his children, Ruth DuMont (David), Dr. Margaret Bendroth (Norman), Nancy Black (Nick), Dr. William (Tina), Dr. Robert, Peter (Amy. He had 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by brothers, Jacob, Peter, Austin, and Burton and by sisters, Mildred and Annetta.
He was born in Fremont, Michigan, served two years in the US Navy during WWII, graduated from Calvin College (AB), University of Michigan (MS Physics) and the University of Rochester (PHD Optical Engineering).
He was employed by Eastman Kodak in their Research Laboratories for 32 years, specializing in photographic image analysis. He was a fellow of the Optical Society of American and an Honorary Member of the Rochester Section. After his retirement he taught at Roberts Wesleyan College and Nazareth College. He and Margaret also volunteered in Nairobi, Kenya where he taught at Daystar University College which is a Christian University that was in its early stage of development when they served there. Sinc then the University has grown from about 30 students to more than 4000.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 3:30 pm at the Perinton Community Church, 636 High St. Ext, Fairport
Bob also volunteered at the Open Door Mission, the Rochester Family Mission, and at the Salt Mine Ministry in Webster. Bob and Margaret made use of Bob's technical skills to provide financial support for a number of Christian Ministries in various parts of the world.
