Obituary of David J. Hart
January 9, 2023, at age 60, Penfield
David J. Hart was born June 22, 1962, to Ronald and Marjorie Hart. He was supported by a loving family, especially his mother who was very active in the developmentally disabled community, and his siblings, Bill Hart, Mary Hart (deceased), and Nancy Hart (Frank Imburgia). Dave lived at home with his parents and after their deaths he continued at his home with his brother Bill for 35 years. He was educated at the Foreman Center and the Mary Cariola Children’s Center, and was an active participant for 40 years in many workshops for the disabled at the ARC of Monroe, including, the Al Sigl Center, Clinton workshop, Mustard St. workshop, Lyell workshop, and Ballantyne day program. David truly enjoyed working with his friends and supervisors at the ARC. He was also a longtime parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Penfield and attended religious continuing education for the disabled that his mother founded. Dave enjoyed many activities such as going to Red Wings games, eating at Applebee’s, and going to the movies, especially Spiderman and Star Wars. David was a very friendly person, loved to shake hands, and was always smiling at people.
The family is eternally grateful to the many caregivers David has had, especially in recent years Maura Fleckenstein and Sam Avant, through the ARC of Monroe MyTime providers program. In the last six months David was fortunate to have been accepted into the CDS Monarch family, was a resident at Beckwith in Henrietta, and participated in the CDS Monarch Webster day program.
David was, in addition to his immediate family members mentioned above, predeceased by his Aunt Doris Hart, Aunt Joyce Dengler, Uncle Ray and Aunt Betty Anderson, and Uncle Larry and Aunt Lillian Anderson.
