Obituary of Charles A. Constantino

CANANDAIGUA - Passed away peacefully on November 21, 2022 at the age of 83, with his adoring family and wife of 61 years by his side at his beloved home on Canandaigua Lake. 

Charlie was a true leader, entrepreneur, philanthropist and mentor, but most importantly a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His gentle but strong nature and his loyalty, integrity and character had a profound impact upon all of those fortunate enough to know him. He will be sorely missed by his family, and by the community that he enriched with his infinite wisdom and immeasurable acts of kindness. 

Charlie was predeceased by his father, Sam Constantino, his mother, Philomena Perrotta Constantino, and brother, Alfred Constantino, all of whom instilled in Charlie the values of hard work and compassion. 

Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; brother, Dr. Richard (Jane) Constantino; children, Chuck (Jacqueline) Constantino, Cindy Constantino-Gleason (Sean), Caryn Hurwitz (Scott), Sam (Marie) Constantino; brother in law, Stanley “Chip” Bartoszewicz; sister in law, Ruth Ann (Alfred) Constantino; grandchildren, Sean Gleason, Quinn Gleason, Sam Constantino, Charlie Constantino III, Sophia Constantino, Aerin Gleason, Reese Hurwitz, Christiana Constantino, Giovanna Constantino, Cameron Hurwitz, and Vincenza Constantino. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Greg (Stephanie) Constantino, Jennifer Constantino, Justin (Mia) Constantino, Mark Constantino, Jason (Tresa) Constantino, Cory (Renee) Constantino, and Brad (Meredith) Constantino. Charlie is also survived by his Perrotta and Constantino cousins, many special friends, and by the community he served with such generosity and kindness. 

The family would like to acknowledge Charlie’s brother, Rick, for his endless devotion to Charlie. The special bond they shared was reflected in Rick’s lifelong care and commitment to Charlie’s medical needs. 

Special thanks to his loving caregivers, who made returning to the Chosen Spot possible; Mariah Sheradin, Celeste Orton, Rochlene D’Amato, Nichole Patterson, and Sara Coogan. 

A celebration of Charlie’s life and visitation will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Hermance Family Chapel at St. John Fisher University, 3690 East Avenue, Rochester, New York from 3-8 PM, and his Memorial Mass will be held at the St. John Fisher University Student Center on December 2, 2022 at 11 am.
