We were blessed to call Clara family. She was a real fighter and had persevered through many challenges. We will miss her and seeing her bright smile. Our thoughts are with you all.

Clara was always a friend you could count on. When we were both living in Denver in the 80's, I got in a car accident near my house. Even though my car was totaled, I felt okay and insisted I could walk home and went to bed. That night, around 11pm, I woke up, craving a coke even though I rarely drank sodas. I knew that Clara always had her Coke Classics, so I called her and told her I crashed my car and could she bring me a coke? Without asking any questions, she came over with the coke I requested. I met her at the door, grabbed the can from her, popped it open and chugged it right there. I remember her staring at me, trying to figure out what in the world was going on with me. I guess I looked alright and convinced her I was okay because she went home. The next morning, I was in so much pain I couldn’t move. My doctor met me at the emergency room and told me that I was in shock after the accident, and if I hadn’t had that coke (powerful stimulant), I would probably have died that night. That's the kind of friend she was. Thank you, Clara. You saved my life so many years ago.

Clara was well loved on WCC5! Her smile could light up the room. We often referred to her as the walking miracle! She loved her family and she fought a long, hard battle. Please know she will always be remembered. So glad I was able to see her to see her smile one later time. Sending you all love. Tracy (PTA).
