Dan was my big brother. I always looked up to him. A story I’ve told many times about our childhood is how when we were kids (maybe 6 and 9) after watching a lot of Hop-a-long Cassidy I tried to knock him out (just like I’d seen 100’s of times on TV) with the butt end of my cap pistol. I hit him hard on the head except he didn’t get knocked out he just bled. I think he chased me and hit me hard afterward. Brother John
