Obituary of Patricia A. Boerman

Patricia A. Boerman (Farris) passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14,2022.  She was born on March 16, 1943, the daughter of Philip Abudullah and Julia Knieser Farris.   Patricia lived most of her life in Fairport, among many dear friends and neighbors, including those who helped care for her in her final days.

Pat is survived by her brother, Philip A. Farris, Sr. (Nancy), and her sister, Alice (John) Sayegh.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and their families.

Pat was a devout and committed communicant of Church of the Assumption in Rochester.  She spent much of her later years, even during her illness, volunteering at the Church’s office.

Pat was a graduate of Olean High School, 1961.  Shortly after, she moved to Rochester and began her long and impressive 30+ years in banking, starting as a teller at Community Savings Bank, Midtown.  Through the years, proving strong banking and leadership skills, she moved through branch management into head of purchasing and retired at the time Community merged into Charter Bank.

Pat loved gardening and socializing with friends.  She never lacked for a lunch date. Our family appreciates each and every friend and neighbor who came forward during Pat’s final weeks to care and assist in so many ways.

In addition to Pat’s commitment to her church, she also served as a volunteer at Advent House comfort care (hospice) for 12 years.  Her final days were spent at Shepherd Home comfort care (hospice), where many volunteers were familiar to her from having also served at Advent House.

Pat's Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 16, 2022 11:15 AM at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Ave. Fairport, NY 14450. Pat’s remains are resting at the Assumption Church Columbarium.  Donations to Shepherd Home, Penfield, and Advent House, Fairport, in Pat’s name, would be appreciated by her family.
