Obituary of Matthew Michael Bittner

Matthew Michael Bittner

Matthew Michael Bittner, of Penfield, NY, passed away suddenly on October 31st, 2021, at the age of 16.

Matthew is predeceased by his uncle, Michael Packer; great-grandmother, Viola Eddy; and grandfather, Thomas Bittner. Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Matt and Sally Bittner; grandparents, George and Kay Packer, and Judy & Harry May; aunt, Susan (Mark) Lang; uncle, Jeremy (Kris) Bittner; cousins, Bobby, Aiden, Brady, Lydia, Loren, and Elliot; and special Grammy, Ann Winter.

Matthew was a junior at Penfield High School. Those who knew him described him as quiet, kind-hearted, loving and those close to him remember him for his witty sense of humor and how his smile could light up the room. At a young age Matthew’s older cousin Bobby sparked his interest in music and the guitar. In recent years, Jeff Okolowicz director of music instruction at Fab Gear taught and mentored Matthew on the guitar which increased his growth exponentially not only in music but in many other aspects of Matthew’s life. Matthew came into this world a miracle baby at 1 lb., 15 oz. At his death, his parents chose to give the miracle of life to other families through organ donation.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held Monday, November 8, 2021, from 4-8 PM at the Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield.
