I am saddened to hear of Joanne’s passing. She was a kind and classy lady that loved to laugh, even at herself, but then she had to because funny things just seemed to happen to her. Joanne took a chance on me by hiring me in 1994 as a part time assistant at RMC. I learned so much from her and we became good friends having lunch together every day. We shared the first computer that was assigned to our department and explored what it could do together because it came with no training. We laughed and laughed as we stumbled through each step like a Lucy & Ethel episode, but we soon became literate and I know Joanne was very proud of her knowledge and skill in Excel. She loved math and formulas and triumphed when she mastered just the right formula she needed for her worksheet. She was so proud of having earned her degree while juggling the demands of a home and family. I haven’t seen her in years but will miss her even more now that she is gone. I loved her dearly.
