Obituary of Laraine L. Lyons

Laraine Lyons, 77 was born on August 24, 1943 in Jamestown, NY.  She passed away peacefully on June 26, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Dunedin, Florida.  Laraine met and married her loving and devoted husband, Dennis (of 57 years), while attending Nursing School in Rochester, NY.  She was a Graduate of Highland Hospital School of Nursing and a Registered Nurse.

She is survived by her husband Dennis, her three daughters Kristine Briggs (Paul), Susan Vercruysse, and Kathy Lyons Dudek.  She has six grandchildren; Ryan & Natalie Briggs, Megan & Daniel Vercruysse, Alexandra & Adam Dudek.  Her brother, Rick Bell (Susan), sister-n-law, Laurie Dunbar (Dave) and 5 nephews; James & Patrick Bell, Sean, Adam, & Eric Bell.  Laraine was predeceased by her parents, Ruby Henderson and Lawrence Bell, brother; Daniel Bell, and sister; Virginia Bell.

Laraine, (better known as “Lari” to family and friends) was a devoted wife, mom, sibling and friend who could always be counted on.  Care taking was her passion and gift.  A private duty nurse, who won “Outstanding Student Nurse” of New York State, Miss Jamestown, stay at home mom, Brownie/Girl Scout Leader, and Religious Educator were a few of many accomplishments.  She loved golfing, bowling, playing cards, crafts and interior design.
