Obituary of Linda B. Meadows

Linda B. Meadows, age 82, passed away on February 6, 2021. She was born April 4, 1938 in Worcester Massachusetts to Stanley and Esther Brown. She attended Potsdam State Teachers College where she met the love of her life Gerry Meadows. She and Gerry were married on July 11, 1959. She resided in Penfield, NY and had lived there for over 50 years. During her life she was active in her church and community. She taught swimming lessons at Perkins Swim club and Fit by Five children’s classes, all while raising four children of her own. She was a former member of the Episcopal Church and current member of the Penfield Wesleyan Church. She was very active teaching children and leading Bible studies. Linda served in marriage ministries, women’s ministries, and children’s ministries for over 40 years. She had a servant’s heart, assisting others whenever she saw a need. She and Gerry were National Directors of Episcopal Marriage Encounter, encouraging couples to strengthen their marriages. She was an active member of Community Bible Study, serving as a children’s teacher, director and women’s small group leader for over 30 years. Linda is survived by her husband, Gerry of nearly 62 years, sons Mark (Lisa), John (Elaine), Tom (Jill) and daughter Karen (Thom) Vandenberg. She has nine beautiful grandchildren that she cherished: Melissa, Michael, Elizabeth, Thomas, Madeline, James, Garrett, Matthew and Emily. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Brielynn and Braiden. She is also survived by one sister, Susan Richardson and several nieces and nephews. Linda was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd, Thursday, February 11, 2021 4-7pm. Linda’s Memorial Service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
