I only started to get to know Gregg in the last couple of years, and am the luckier for this. He was one of the most modest (aside from when it came to bragging about Ali)and truly nice guys I have ever met. I continue to miss him as a colleague and as a friend. I never saw anyone fight so hard to stay here with his family; what courage he had, and what a lot he taught us. I know he rests in peace.

My memories of Gregg begin in college when I spent the summer in Rochester. He was always around to hang out with and make the brutal summer of PT classes more bearable. When we were both in Ithaca and everyone was on Spring Break but us, we went to the tanning booth to get a better tan than our friends. I remember visiting him in San Diego and we went waverunning in the Bay. He had me so scared tearing up the waters. He visited me in NJ and loved my dog Kali even though she tripped him and sprained his ankle. I truly cherished Gregg's unique gift of making me feel incedibly special. I always looked forward to his calls, cards, emails, text messages. I feel truly honored to have known and shared a friendship with Gregg, and also to know his family too. He fought this battle with such strength and determination. God bless Kelly and Ally, may you be comforted by the knowledge that Gregg loved you both more than words can say and you truly lit up his life. And to his family, may you also be comforted through your memories of Gregg. May he have eternal life with God and look out for you all from his place in Heaven.
Deepest sympathy,
Sharlynn

As good friends of Charlene and Charley, we have been in constant prayer for your dear Gregg for all these years since he has been diagnosed. In the very beginning I felt God telling me he would be healed, and even though his body has stopped functioning it is true healing that his spirit has been chosen to be with Jesus for eternity! We rejoiced when we heard that he had invited Jesus into his heart. That, (I felt) was his real moment of healing.
We were so happy to have the opportunity to meet you when you visited the Ryder's last Oct. Thank you for making that tremendous effort.
Our prayers are still with you all as you fact these days of lonliness and separation from Gregg, but we know you all have wonderful memories to cherrish until you are all reunited once again forever.
Blessings and love, Bob and Marilyn Hall

I remember making Christmas ornaments with Gregg and his brother when they were young boys. My special memory is when Gregg delivered a policy we purchased from him. It was just the two of us and he had travelled quite a ways to my home. We had dinner for two by candlelight. I made his favorite and told him he was my date. Love, Aunt Char

Greg was a great friend to my brother. They graduated together and spend a lot of time with one another. I was the annoying little sister that always wanted to be included and Greg was the one that always talked to me and let me be part of what was going on. He will be greatly missed by the King family. We are so sorry for your great loss.

Everyday I look at the obituaries online. Today was no different, the first person I saw was Greg and I thought what a beautiful man. He has such beautiful eyes and looks like a great person. Then I read all the comments from family/friends I sat here crying. You were truly blessed to have Greg in your lives as long as you did because anyone who met him would be a better person for knowing him for one moment. He made the world a better place and what more could you ask from him. He did what God sent him to do,to make the world better. Be proud of him for that. God bless you and know that he will always be in your hearts. Memories never die,so always remember him and love him always. Chris

Gregg was a great father, friend and cousin. I have many fond memories of Gregg. He was always in good spirits, even while fighting cancer. The last seven years I had the opportunity to really get to know Gregg. And I am happy I did. We talked, text and emailed a lot. I could always depend on Gregg to be positive and in good spirits. And after every conversation he left me with a smile on my face.
I had the privilege to be in Kelly and Gregg's wedding, to also have Gregg read at our wedding and to live with Gregg down in San DIego at the beach. And to this day I always wash the sand off my feet before I enter the house and never leave my dishes in the sink. Right Gregg!
Gregg was really strong and had a huge heart. He has made a lasting impression on Anna and I. I know he will be looking out for us all from above. I need all the help I can get, right Gregg?
We will miss you and never forget all the great things you accomplished.
Thanks Gregg!
Love
Brian and Anna

Our fondest memories of Gregg are of him driving his red sports car down our street looking so handsome. Or meeting him out on Atlantic Avenue when he was jogging and greeting us with his sweet smile. But most of all was the day he told us he was accepted at Cornell and that he had won a scholarship from a Polish organization. He was so proud as we were of him. May he find peace and rest.
Sincerest sympathy,
Anne and Bill.

The first thing I noticed, of course, was how handsome he was, the second, how friendly and open. Gregg always had a smile and a wry observation - handsome, smart, witty, the only thing he needed was my beautiful and funny friend Kelly, and an equally charming daughter, to create the perfect picture. What happened to Gregg will never make sense or be okay. What he gave and what he left us however is priceless. I will always remember his smiling face, his class, his strength and his warmth. God grant him and his family peace and immeasurable blessings.

I would like to add a thought about how caring Gregg was. When we were having a bad day at the office – he would notice and bring the girls chocolate milk shakes. When my mom passed away – he asked for her name even though he wasn’t feeling well himself and said he would pray for her. Every time I spoke to him he would tell me he was still praying for “Mildred”. Last year when my son was deployed to Iraq, again, even though he wasn’t feeling well, asked for my son's name and told me he would pray for him. His prayers helped because my son came home safe and sound 2 weeks ago. Gregg will truly be missed.

Farewell to a friend
You are gone
and we mourn.
Do we mourn for you
or is it for us?
Is it our regret
for not having shown up?
Is it our regret
for our own lives that may be gone?
Is it for the time we didn't spend with you
or sorrow for the for not living our own lives in full?
My friend, you can go
may you rest in peace.
May your soul find repose,
may your loved ones find comfort
in the time they gave you,in the blessings you left behind,
in having been blessed with you in their lives.
We hope to see you again.
We hope to meet you there.
Thanks for the time you gave us,
the tears, the laughter and keeping us in your prayers.
