I am proud to say that I am his cousin. Jeff was a fun loving, quick witted, loving man. He loved all his family more than anything and he was the bridge to two sides of the same family. Jeff came for the holidays and not only laughed with us, he had wisdom and guidance as well. He was protective of me and jokingly (but seriously) threatened one of his friends and told him he better leave me alone when he was fliting with me. I told Jeff once that he had better come to my wedding or I would have to hunt him down. He laughed at me. He was my favorite. He came to the wedding and added that extra sparkle. He would come to the holidays and play his guitar and we would just sit back and enjoy. I have never known anyone so supportive in difficult situations with such empathy. I will miss my cousin and my extra brother. Jeff would come to lunch with my mother, Judy, Bob, Shirley, and Paul. We had such good times laughing and sharing our special friendships and bonds. I do not remember Jeff talking about anyone, unless it was good. He was proud of his nieces and nephews and would let us know it. Due to COVID I was not able to visit with him and I so regret it. I would have been there if I could have. Jeff, I will always miss and love you very much. Thank you for all you have done for me and with me. You are so special. I am so thrilled you were able to meet my children and share your personality and love with them as well. God Bless you Jeff. You are always in my heart.

My sincere thoughts and sympathy to Chris, Lori and the Auer family. Jeff was a true friend who loved people, will be missed. I will miss our occasional visits and phone calls and where he would always have a good laugh over just about anything. He loved hockey - especially if it was an old time hockey goalie story. Jeff had an exceptional sense of humor and was never lacking for a quick witty reply. He loved the country and simple things. Many years ago I remember how thrilled he was to visit our family farm. And to ride with my dad, in our farm car, with a calf in the back seat.
RIP Jeff, you were a true friend to many of us.
Wishing the very best to the Auer family.

Our sincere condolences to Chris, Lori and Jeff’s extended family.
I had the pleasure of Jeff’s company at RIT followed by years of adult hockey in Albany, NY. His good nature, quick wit and continuous humor were unique and consistent. A person who put great effort into the practical joke, Jeff once carried a 100 lb. pumpkin to the wedding of a hockey teammate and gave it to him and his new bride as a wedding gift.
RIP Jeff ~ You will be missed!

I was so saddened to hear of Jeff’s passing. Bob and I always enjoyed his company and before he needed assisted living, we’d often meet for lunch with Joyce, Beth, Shirley and Paul (I was the ersatz aunt!) and it was always a fun time with lots of laughter. Smiling and enjoying life, that’s how I’ll always remember him.

Our condolences to Chris and all of the Auer clan. Jeff was a foundational part of the Keene house. Nancy and Stacia have written beautiful notes. I can only add that in our neighborhood, he was the lightness, the grace that we bounced off of. He would just simply laugh at, and with me. I have the clearest memory of Mrs. Auer in her kitchen, And, the biting wit of Mr. Auer and Ted Auer, had the coolest car in the neighborhood. Jeff had an incredible ear. He would hear an album and say, "Shut up and listen to this!" He handed me Loggins & Messina. He handed me REO Speedwagon. He was the glue to our high school hockey team, melding a disparate bunch, from Lloyd to Moyer, to Simpson and Cornelius. He taught me about girls. And yes, Stacia is right. My father adored him.

Hello to the Auers, Very sorry to hear of Jeff’s passing. I have many great memories of the Auers. My parents were very frugal and we were allowed one glass of milk at dinner and no more. We would hear “the one on the right’s cold” if we wanted something more to drink. Jeff was with us for dinner once and was offered a glass of milk, to which he replied, “Is this the Christmas milk?” My parents laughed about it for years and often referred to the Christmas milk when something was in short supply. Even my husband, who never met Jeff, knows about the Christmas milk. I also have wonderful Auer memories connected to hockey, church, telescope star gazing, and the farm (our Bristol property). God bless your family as you enjoy many wonderful memories of Jeff.

And can I add that Jeff was my Dad's Guinea pig in making a custom goalie mask in the middle of our kitchen floor. It was quite something to see Jeff getting his face plastered for the mold. We were all so impressed with his courage. Love to you all. Stacia
