Obituary of Ann Lynd

Ann Marie Lynd of Penfield passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side at age 87. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, T. Murray Lynd, and her grandson, Colin J. Murphy.

Marie was born in Jersey City and lived in Iselin, NJ growing up. She met Murray when they both worked at the Raritan Military Arsenal in Metuchen, NJ in the early 1950s. As an executive secretary, she had a higher security clearance than Murray, a sergeant, and she loved to tease him about that through the years. They moved to Rochester in the late 1960s when Murray took a job with IBM. She was a loving mom and grandmother who enjoyed nothing more than being around her grandkids.

Marie is survived by her children, Marie Lynd Murphy (Timothy) of Penfield, Kathleen Perrault (Leo) of Rochester, Thomas Lynd (Deborah) of Penfield, and Eileen Lynd-Balta (Michael) of Pittsford; grandchildren, Colleen (Matthew), Daniel (Megan), Eric (Laura), Teresa, Scott and Jack; beloved brother, Dan Reynolds of Iselin, NJ. She is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward Lynd (Kathleen), Carol Lynd, John Lynd (Judith), and James Lynd (Karen). Marie had a special relationship with her niece Kathy Lynd as well as many other nieces and nephews. She also was close to her friends in her Seton group.

A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hermance Family Chapel at St. John Fisher College, 3690 East Avenue, Rochester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Area Food Cupboard, 892 Portland Ave. Rochester, NY 14621.
