Obituary of Kurt D. Marrer
FAIRPORT – Born on November 20, 1962, in Rochester, New York, Kurt’s life came full circle with his passing on his birthday, November 20, 2020, at Strong Memorial Hospital in the presence of his family. Kurt is survived by his sisters Kathy (Michael) Weber and Sally Marrer (Stephen Langlois); nephews David Weber (Juliet Sorce), Jonathan (Ann) Weber; niece Sophie Langlois; grand-nephews, Sebastian and Raphael; special cousin Nancy Marrer (Lisa Ford) and children, Jacob and Lillian; and dear friend Lisa Bergfjord (John Bergfjord). He was predeceased by his parents, Donald V. and Dorothy J. Marrer, formerly of Penfield. A former member of the Army, Army Reserves, and employee of Penfield Central Schools and Strong Memorial Hospital, Kurt attended the Culinary Institute of America, and worked in many local restaurants and food service establishments. Kurt’s was a life sustained by the love of long-term friends and family. His keen sense of humor and sly wit made him a great story-teller and a good companion. He loved to cook for a crowd. Kurt had a kind heart for those in need and treasured his cat, Ariel. He will be sorely missed by his family and his large network of friends. Please consider honoring Kurt with a donation to the Church of the Assumption, 20 East Avenue, Fairport, NY 14450. A Zoom celebration of his life will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family.
