Obituary of Patricia C. Hughes

Patricia C. Hughes Penfield - On September 17, 2020 at age 88. She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Richard J. Hughes; her parents, Frank James Carson and Elizabeth Riley Carson; and her brother, Thomas Carson. Pat is survived by her daughters, Linda (Tim) Slate and Karen (Bob) Frick; grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Martens, Kelley (Chris) Nakos, Lindsay (Cyril) Green, Jesse Slate, Hannah Frick, and Maggie Frick; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Martens, Cyril and Rowan Green, Cody and Kora Nakos; her sisters, Jean Glor, Mary Lou Havens, Betsy Carson; brothers, Robert (Marilyn) Carson, James (Donna) Carson, Frederick (Helen) Carson and William Carson; sister-in-law, Sandy Paddock; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat provided unconditional love and support to her family and friends. She was a florist and avid gardener with an artistic eye for detail. She loved to entertain and was known for her unique parties and celebrations. Pat’s favorite place was her family home, Maplehurst, on Canandaigua Lake. Her daughters were raised loving the traditions of life on the lake and share that joy with their children. Pat was an active member of Trinity Reformed Church for over 60 years where she made lifelong friends. She was known at Trinity for her dedication to social affairs, hospitality and her “can do everything” spirit. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Reformed Church, 909 Landing Road N, Rochester NY 14625 or to the C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association, 200 Westfall Road, Rochester NY 14620.
