Obituary of Robert Ernest Steinkraus

Robert E. Steinkraus, MD of Rochester NY died Friday June 26th 2015 at age 84. Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Wooster Steinkraus; children, Karl Steinkraus of MD, John (Joy) Steinkraus of GA, Susan McDaniel of Fairport and Jane Miller (Warren) of MD; grandchildren,: Cody and Luke McDaniel, Laura and Clay Miller; sisters: Dorothy DuBois and Virginia Rios. Bob grew up in Brooklyn NY, attended Ohio Weslyan University, and earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester in 1956. He practiced internal medicine in Penfield NY for 29 years and was on the staff at The Genesee Hospital. Bob was known for being an expert medical diagnostician and he was loved by his many patients. Bob and Pat retired to Wilmington, NC and Cleveland, GA before returning to Rochester NY last year. He enjoyed golf, gardening, snowmobiling and hiking in the Adirondacks, birdwatching and world travel with his wife, Pat. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A celebration of Bob's life will be held Tuesday, June 30th at 10:30 am at the funeral home.
