Judith A. Jorgensen
Penfield - Suddenly on March 3, 2020. Judy is survived by her husband of 66 years, John; sons, Alex and Kai; sister, Rochelle; niece, Lisa. Born and raised in Rye, New York, she was a librarian in Anchorage, Alaska and later in the Webster and Penfield School Districts. As the parent of a son (Alex) who was born with developmental disabilities, she was a strong advocate of the rights of individuals with disabilities. She voluntarily served as a parent member of the Committee for Special Education the Penfield School district, later as a member of the Board of Education in the Penfield School District, and recently as a member of the Family Support Council of the State of New York.
In addition, she was a member of the Board of Heritage Christian Services for a number of years. Along with having Masters Degrees in both English and Library Science, she was an accomplished pianist. She is remembered by her family as a loving spouse and parent who put the needs of others ahead of her own.
