Obituary of Glenn Albert Hider
Glenn A. Hider of Penfield
"One Wife, One Job, One House" Our Rock of Gibraltar died peacefully at home Sunday, February 16, 2020 at age 94. Predeceased by his grandson, Daniel Suter. Survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Patricia; children, Andrea (Jim) McClure, Glenn, Keith, Lauren (Mark Kranick); 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Glenn was a native Rochestarian. After completing his service in the United States Navy during World War II, he graduated from Clarkson College in Potsdam and returned to Rochester where he made his career as a Mechanical Engineer at Gleason Works for 40 years. He was an Adjunct Professor of Engineering at RIT, also for 40 years. Glenn was a loving and devoted father and husband and exemplary family man. He was an avid music enthusiast, and was a member of Chorus of the Genesee; a hiker who instilled the love of the outdoors in all his children, and had a sense of humor that was was easily injected into his everyday life. He's most known for his wry smile and his "pop-corn" jokes.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at White Haven Memorial Park, All Seasons Chapel, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford at 11:00 am, Friday, February 21, 2020.
