Obituary of L. Robert Burns

L. Robert Burns of Penfield passed away on Wednesday January 15, 2020. Father, husband and friend. Bob was also a devoted Catholic, avid golfer, long time member of Penfield Country Club and World War II fighter pilot. Bob took great satisfaction growing prize winning dahlias. He was happiest working in his garden bringing beauty to life. Bob founded and retired as President of Burns Personnel, Inc. of Rochester. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his wonderful children, Deb (Dennis) Christiano, Jackie (Tom) Tedesco, Natalie (Rick) Makins and Nancy (Richard) VanNess; daughter-in-law, Lauren Burns; grandchildren, Dennis, Kevin and Tony Christiano, Adam Burns, Maddison Delgato, Erin King and Bob Makins; brother, David Burns; Jeanne's children, Matthew Healy and Sandra Agusti. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Jeff and Greg; brother, Charles Burns; sister, Mary Jane Welsh. Bob's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd., Penfield on Saturday January 18th at 11:00 am. Bob supported Habitat for Humanity for many years and was dedicated to its mission. Instead of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 755 Culver Rd., Rochester, NY 14609.
