Obituary of Margaret E. Kane

Margaret Elizabeth Murphy Neill Kane Penfield - Formerly of Marion, NY, passed away on December 19, 2019 at the age of 102. She was born to Emmett and Marjorie Klee Murphy on December 14, 1917 in Rochester, New York. She is predeceased by her husbands, Edmond Neill and Robert Kane; son, James Neill. Margaret is survived by her sons, Thomas (Cindy) Neill of Newark, Lawrence (Lynn) Neill of Henrietta, and Donald (Charlaine) Neill of Henrietta; daughters, Kathleen (Jim) Miller of North Carolina and Mary Frances Neill of Rochester; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was most proud of her Irish heritage. Margaret was a WWII veteran serving as an Army WACS Staff Sargent in both London and Paris and later in Rheims, France, where she married her husband, Master Sargent Edmond Neill, wearing a wedding dress made from a discarded GI parachute. She loved to read and keep up with family news. She will be greatly missed by the family. No prior calling. A Graveside Service will be held at Marion Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.
