Obituary of William N Pearson

William Norman Pearson of Fairport passed away peacefully May 17th after a long illness. Born December 19 1921 to Carl and Signe Pearson. Bill grew up in Rochester and attended East High. He served in the US Army during WW II in Europe with the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. Upon returning to Rochester, he enrolled and graduated from RIT with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1950 he married Jane Evans of Branchport NY and together they raised four children; Richard Pearson of Rhinebeck NY, Nancy (David) Frick of Amesbury Ma. Robert (Beth) Pearson of Charlotte NC and Ann (Rob) Kinyoun of Bluff Point NY. Bill owned and operated the Rochester Agency of the Hobart Manufacturing Co for 23 years and co-owned Jay Vee Fishing Tackle for several years after that. He was active in scouting for over 50 years. Besides being a devoted husband and father, he enjoyed sailing, spending time with grandchildren and was always overseeing small and large projects at his homes in Penfield, Keuka Lake and his much loved St. Eustatius. He was a kind, loving and generous man who also cultivated many dear friendships. A memorial service will be held at the Penfield Baptist Church on Penfield Road on Friday May 22nd at 2pm. Memorial donations may be given to the Bitley Cemetery in Branchport NY or to the Open Door Mission in Rochester. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane and a loving family of four children, 7 grandchildren; Reed, Ford, Signe, Erik, Molly, Clay and Jeff; two sisters, Martha and Betty and numerous nieces and nephews. We wish to acknowledge the administration and staff of Aaron Manor in Penfield NY for the dedicated care and support given to Bill and to Jane these past two years. He was a good man that will be long remembered.
