Obituary of Donald L. Bowman

Rochester- Formerly of Penfield, passed from this life on Monday, November 18, 2019 at age 88. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” and his sister, Irene Christman. He is survived by his son, Paul (Ruth); daughter, Carol (Charles) Thomas; grandchildren, Matthew (Alicia) and Steven (Heather). He was “Great Poppa” to three great-grandchildren.
Don grew up in Easton, PA and graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in Physics. He obtained a Masters Degree at RPI and spent most of his working career at Xerox. Taking early retirement, he spent time traveling with Jackie, teaching physics at MCC and playing trombone. He spent over 20 years playing with New Horizons orchestra and several bands. He will be missed by many dear friends and his family.
No prior calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 7, 1:00 PM at St Thomas’ Episcopal Church, 2000 Highland Avenue, Rochester. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s name may be directed to a charity of your choice.
