Obituary of Arlene B Giotto

Arlene B Giotto of Penfield died July 20, 2019.  Arlene was born in Utica NY on July 25, 1932 to John and Barbara Tuman Jakobowski.  She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, A. Anthony Giotto; sisters, Evelyn Foster and Lilian Jakobowski.  Arlene is survived by her son, John A. Giotto and her daughter Carol A. Giotto (Don Crumb); sisters-in-law, Roseanne Giotto and Grace (Elmer) Sharp and several nieces and nephews.

Arlene attended Thomas R. Proctor High School in Utica and Plattsburgh College and Syracuse University where she earned her Masters Degree in Education.  She was a Special Education Teacher and spent most of her years teaching at BOCES Number 1 in Monroe County where she made many lifelong friends.

Arlene enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, lunch at Hong Wah restaurant with her friends, watching the wildlife in her back yard and spending time with her beloved cats Paulie and Henry and watching her son's band play. (It's My Party)

Arlene's family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appriciation to the staff and volunteers at Shepherd Home, Lifetime care and her dear friends Burnett Parkins, Mia Podosek and Patty Puffer for their kindness, compassion and care.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road., Penfield with interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Tuesday, July 23rd at the Funeral Home.
