Obituary of K. Richard Wheeler

K. Richard Wheeler of Penfield passed away peacefully June 2, 2019 at the age of 81. Survived by his loving wife Anne after 57 years of marriage; sons, Mark (Caron), Jeffrey (Jan) and Kevin (Marina); 7 adoring grandchildren, Kayla, Michael, Jodie, Adam, Ryan, Nikolai, and Ekaterina. He was a graduate of Lansingburg H.S. in Troy, NY and RIT in Rochester. He enjoyed over 30 years in banking as a VP of First Federal and Chase Lincoln banks. He was a member of the Penfield Presbyterian Church and was active in Penfield sports programs. Dick was a beloved member of the Penfield community as a father, coach, and friend to all that met him. He enjoyed long walks and bike rides in the sun. He always had a smile on his face and a witty comment to share. He loved being the center of neighborhood sporting events, including backyard basketball, baseball and football games. He loved hosting cocktail hour and sharing stories and laughter, especially with his extended family, the Kelly's.

Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Thursday 4-7PM. He will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Golisano Children's Hospital, Lifetime Care or a charity of your choice.
