Obituary of Jacob Edwin Van Hall
Jacob “Jake” Edwin Van Hall of St. Petersburg Florida-Passed away peacefully on Sunday February 17th at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife, Hendrika; children Stephen (Patti), Jeffrey (Irene), Linda and grandchildren Laurie and Stephen; his brother William (Margaret) Van Hall and sisters Marian Vandenberg and Jean Goodwin and extended family members.
Jake was born and spent most of his life in Rochester, New York and enjoyed sailing the Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario and loved to be outdoors. Jake was proud to serve his country and was a Korean War veteran. Jake retired from Ward’s Natural Science in 1990 and was involved with Literacy Volunteers while in Rochester. Jake and Henny moved to Florida in 2006 to enjoy the sunshine and beaches. He also volunteered his time to help young children read during his retirement.
Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Saturday, March 23, 3-5PM where a brief Celebration of Life will follow at 5PM. Donations to Literacy Volunteers of Rochester.
