Obituary of Thomas Joseph O'Connor

Thomas Joseph Nicholas O’Connor died surrounded by family on August 26, 2018.  He was 86.  Tom is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce O’Connor, daughters Rachael O’Connor (Roger White), Rosanne O’Connor, and Alice (Leif) Peterson.  He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Katie O’Connor, Sarah O’Connor (Ryan Schmohe), Kevin (Mackenzie) McLellan, Julia McLellan, Anna Solberg, Grace Peterson, Violet Peterson, and his great grandson, Flynn Thomas McLellan.  He will be remembered and missed by many dear friends, as well.

Tom was devoted to his family, Christ, and his Catholic faith.  He was a spiritual resource and inspiration to many.  Tom was a native of the Bronx and settled his family in Fairport almost 50 years ago.  As a young man, he served in the U.S. Navy and Merchant Marine and studied at St. Joseph’s Seminary.  Later, he worked for many years in computer sales and programming. 

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August  31, at 9 a.m. at St. Jerome’s Church, 207 Garfield Street, East Rochester, NY.  Fellowship to follow.
