Obituary of Anna Marie Merriman

Anna Marie Catherine (Lamoureux) Merriman 1936 -2018

Fairport – Anna passed peacefully with family by her side on August 25, 2018 in her room at the Fairport Baptist Home.

Anna was born and raised in Woonsocket, RI with her 5 brothers and 2 sisters.  She graduated from Regis College, Boston, with a degree in Health Sciences, Nutrition. She began her career as a dietitian for Kodak in Rochester, where she met her beloved husband of 55 years, Marcus A. Merriman of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Anna was the devoted mother of Marcus (Peggy) Merriman, Timothy (Nora) Merriman, David (Jennifer) Merriman, Susan (Martin) Walter, and Michael (Tracey) Merriman, grandmother to Marcus, Patrick, Ian, Meaghan, Catherine, Brett, Pamela, Erica, Bridgette, Natalie, Sean, and Brendan.  She is survived by her siblings Philip, Margaret, Raymond, and Christine.  With her passing, she will join her husband Marcus, son Timothy, and brothers Roland, Robert, and Andre in heaven.

Anna and Marcus raised their family of 5, eventually settling in Irondequoit, NY in 1969.  She continuously displayed her great devotion to her family by being the constant, loving caretaker through Marcus’ career moves that took the family to Michigan, New Jersey, and overseas to Iran. She was a doting grandmother to her 12 grandchildren, who will proudly carry on her family traditions.

Anna was an active volunteer in the Rochester area community, including being a founding member of the 70th Seton Branch-Saint Mary’s Hospital, volunteer at Penfield Public library, and also Rochester General Hospital.

Anna’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at the Fairport Baptist Home, especially the 2F family, and companion Donna Cody.  We will be forever grateful for your loving and caring support.
