Obituary of Stacey Lynn Blair

Stacey Lynn Blair (Phelan), 42, of Penfield, NY, passed away September 28, 2014, six years after being diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. During the six years of her illness, Stacey endured many treatments and interventions while attempting to regain her health. During these treatments, Stacey was strong-willed and positive. She never admitted defeat, even when anyone else would have given up. She was born in Rochester New York on June 11, 1972 to Dan and Evelyn Phelan. Stacey graduated from Penfield High School in 1990. She was the food and beverage manager/ wedding and event coordinator at Irondquoit Country Club for 13 years. She loved her work at the country club, helping plan weddings and other celebrations. She worked tirelessly and with endless patience to help create the events that her clients envisioned. She is survived by her husband, Tim, her parents Dan and Evelyn Phelan; two daughters, Mercedes 23 and Bailey 19; one grand-daughter, Allison 18 months; two sisters, Cindy Valence and Kim Gregory; her mother-in-law, Barbara Blair, her sister-in law, Marianne Blair as well as three nephews and two nieces, an aunt and uncle, two cousins and many, many friends. Stacey loved her family and was grateful for the time spent together. As recently as August, she spent a week on the beach with her family, eating ice cream, laughing and enjoying the sunshine. The family would like to thank everyone who helped support Stacey during her illness, including: the members and staff of Irondequoit Country Club, the nursing staff at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, Tracey Testa, Tara Fusco, Bryn Nakamura, Sara Borchard, Dr. Eugene Toy, Dr. Charis Lee, and all of Stacey's friends who offered love, support and kindness to our family. Friends are invited to a graveside service Tuesday 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, 1975 Baird Road, Penfield.
