Obituary of Donald G Hitchings

Donald G. Hitchings of Pittsford, formerly of Penfield. November 26, 1925-June 18, 2014. Donald died peacefully at Highland Hospital following a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion. Donald was born in Syracuse, NY and was the only child of Malcolm and Eradell Hitchings. He is survived by sons, Charles Hitchings, Webster, NY, David (Beth) Hitchings of Reston, VA, daughter, Deborah (Brian) Bodager of Green Bay, WI. Grandsons, Dr. Brandon Bodager, Jonathan Bodager, Thomas Hitchings, James Hitchings and granddaughter, Lauren Bodager will always cherish their time spent with "Pa". Donald graduated from Harvard University, class of 1948 and received his MBA from Harvard in 1952. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marine. After marrying Marion Ryan in 1950 and completing his degree, he accepted a position with Kodak where he worked until his retirement. Donald was a member of Asbury First United Methodist Church and he participated in the Penfield Rotary Club. A Memorial Service will be held at the Highlands in Pittsford where Donald resided.
