Obituary of N Mark Achenbach

N. Mark Achenbach of Penfield passed away May 21, 2014 at age 78. He was born January 10, 1936 in Williamsport, PA. He was predeceased by his father, Newton M. Achenbach and mother, Carrie Bower Achenbach. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Shirley L. Achenbach whom he married in 1958. He is also survived by his son, David M. (Edie) Achenbach of Pittsford and daughter, Laura (Dominic) Chinelli of Irondequoit; 2 grandchildren, Dominic M. Chinelli and Lindsay L. Chinelli. He was a member of the Marine Corps Reserves for 5 ½ years after completing training at Parris Island and Camp Lejeune. He joined Sylvania Electric Corp. before joining Xerox in 1967 where he earned the designation of Certified Purchasing Manager. He also served as a member of the Lycoming College Executive Alumni Board. Following retirement, he assisted in the Wegman's LPGA and Nationwide tours, was an AARP tax preparer and local tax coordinator and supported the Visiting Nurse Meals-on-Wheels program. He greatly enjoyed travel, was a longtime member of the Penfield Country Club and enjoyed a lifetime of fly fishing at the family cabin in State Run, PA. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield, Friday 4-8 PM, where a Service will be held Saturday 10 AM. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery.
