Obituary of Elizabeth A. Connaughton

Elizabeth Connaughton “Aunt Beth” of Brighton entered eternal peace on Friday January 3, 2014 at age 82. A woman of infinite spirit and integrity has left us today, leaving all who knew her a little richer in grace and human spirit, great twinkle in her eyes. She was a daughter of Jim and Margaret Connaughton born on Golf Avenue in Pittsford. She is predeceased by her sisters, Helen Courtemanche, Ann Gendron, Margaret Menihan; and brother-in-law, John Menihan; niece, Lynn and Nephew Charles Oesterly. She is survived by her brother, Patrick (Cathy) and loving twin sister, Rosemary Oesterly; brothers-in-law, Maurice Courtemanche and Ray Gendron; a special devoted friend, Ron Proud; and many nieces and nephews who affectionately call her “Auntie”. After graduating from Nazareth College she began her teaching career in Manchester-Shortsville and Lyons. She retired from the Rochester City School District with 34 years of service. Elizabeth was a spiritual woman and active in the St. Francis de Sales International Spiritual Organization. Family and friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield, Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church, 15 St. Mary’s Place Rochester. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester.
