Obituary of Ona Embrey

Ona Embrey of Penfield passed away November 5, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry. Ona is survived by her children, Lin Embrey, Kay Embrey and Rex (Lynn) Embrey; 4 grandchildren, Joelle (Mark) Frizzera, J. Michael (Gretchen) Wood, Leanne Wood Charlesworth, Megan (Ricky) Mahaney Knapp; 7 great-grandchildren, Ella, Zachary, Finian, Luke, Simone, Natalie and Madison; sister, Vera Jaeger; sister-in-law, Marian Embrey; several nieces, nephews and many close friends. Ona was a graduate of Purdue University School of Pharmacy and a 75 year member of Alpha Chi Sorority. She was a co-owner of Embrey’s Drugstore and Embrey’s Liberty Hollow. Ona was passionate about women’s rights and politics. She enjoyed summers at her cottage on Port Bay, loved euchre and a good party with family and friends. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Saturday 4-7 PM. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery will be held Sunday 12 Noon, followed by a celebration of Ona’s Life 1PM at Shadow Lake Golf Club, 1850 Five Mile Line Road, Penfield.
