Obituary of Franklyn L. Barrett

Franklyn L. Barrett of Penfield formerly of Utica NY died October 12, 2013 at age 92. Franklyn is predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth. Survived by his sons, John (Mary Anne) of Pinehurst NC and Richard (Anne) of Penfield NY; grandchildren, Jason and Meghan. Franklyn was born May 22, 1921 in Utica NY. He served as a T/Sgt.in the army during WW II in Africa and Italy. He began his professional career at Armour & Co. in Utica progressing from Accounting Clerk to Controller. He later worked for the Chadwicks Union Free and Frankfort-Schuyler Central School Districts as Business Manager. Franklyn and Ruth retired in 1983 and moved to the Floral Lakes Park in Bartow Florida until 2002 when they moved to the Legacy at Willow Ponds in Penfield. Special thanks to the dedicated staff at Woodside Manor for their wonderful care during his final months. A Memorial Service and reception will be held, Friday, October 18th at 2:00pm at Penfield United Methodist Church, 1795 Baird Road, Penfield. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider the church in his memory.
