Obituary of Wendy S. Metz

Wendy Metz of Rochester passed away August 30, 2013 at age 56. She was predeceased by her father, Charles Rider. Wendy is survived by her husband, Dale Evan Metz; mother, Barbara Russo; step-son, Sean; daughter-in-law, Sara; and granddaughter, Tobin. Wendy was born April 8, 1957 in Syracuse, graduated from Nazareth College with Bachelor and Master degrees in Speech Pathology, and worked in the Rochester City School District at Jefferson High School and Charlotte Middle School for over 30 years. She was also an Adjunct Lecturer at SUNY Geneseo where she taught both undergraduate and graduate classes, worked in the Harold Starbuck Stuttering Clinic, and received the Joseph O’Brien award for excellence in teaching. Wendy and Dale enjoyed cruising the waters of Sodus Bay and Lake Ontario on their Carver boat, Vienna with friends and family in the summertime. Her family is grateful to the hospice staff and volunteers at Shepherd Home for their loving care of Wendy during her time there.
