Obituary of Janice E. Stevens

Janice Stevens of Penfield peacefully passed away on August 27, 2013 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, John Stevens and is survived by her daughters, Karla (Tim) Roof and Deborah (John) Harris; grandchildren, Brad and Lauren Harris, Kenzie, Jack and Charlie Roof. Jan grew up in Minnesota, graduated from the University of Minnesota, and moved to Rochester after she married. She lived her life to the fullest and was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, who was always there for her family. She loved sports, especially skiing and golfing and was always game to try something new. She enjoyed driving and traveled often to visit her family in Vermont and Connecticut, where she sailed and skied, watched her grandchildren’s sporting events, shopped with her granddaughters and drove kids to and from activities. She also loved sewing, cooking and taking care of her home. She was a Campfire Girls leader, a member of Penfield United Methodist Church, Bristol Mountain “Old Fogies Club”, Penfield Country Club, PEO and The Allens Creek/Corbett’s Glen Preservation Group. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service for Jan Thursday, September 5, 11 AM at Penfield United Methodist Church, 1795 Baird Road, followed by a reception at Penfield Country Club. Interment will be held in private. In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation to your favorite charity in her memory.
