My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the entire O’Mara family. I am so sorry for your loss. I was not fortunate to meet Bill in person but knew him through his friend Kathy. We had shared pictures and emailed on various occasions. I am sorry that I never had the opportunity to actually spend time with him. I will never forget the kind and caring person that he was. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of great sadness.

"O'Mar" was a bright spot in our Army Reserve Aviation unit. Always with that grin like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar! Nothing seemed to phase Bill . . . he tackled the sometimes frustrating challenges that the Military philosophy can present with grace and humor, that at times was rather acerbic, but always spot on. He will be truly missed by both his personal family and his family of "weekenders" at the Syracuse Flight Facility.

Bill was what we call "One of the Good Guys"! As a member of our Army Reserve unit Bill quickly made friends and contributed to our shared mission and Esprit de Corps. His positive friendly attitude was a welcome and uniting factor whether at home base or in the field. I'm honored to have served with him and to call him "Friend".
Rest in Peace Bill. You are missed!

I first met Bill over 40 yrs ago, when he became a member of my Army reserve aviation unit. He quickly became a valuable asset to our unit, and a close friend. After our retirement in 1996, we continued our relationship at our annual reunion at my home for over 20 years. The military is a special fraternity and Bill was a very special member of that fraternity. It was an honor and priviledge to have served with him and shared our friendship......................Major Roger Baker, U.S.ARMY, Retired, and spouse, Vicki Baker

My condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to all of Bill's wonderful amily. He was a man who always warmly greeted me as his long lost cousin each and every time we got together over these many many years.
Always a great smile and a story to match my stories - story for story - the Irish form of communication. LOL
I will miss him and remember him very fondly - especially as each St. Patrick;s Day approaches each year.
To my special cousins, Shannon, Kerry, Casey I know this is a great loss, but Bill's spirit lives on in each of you - along with his million dollar smile.
Love to you all

A happy and positive energy has left us. I really had so much fun with Bill when he came in to volunteer at RMH. We all knew there would be fun and laughter in the house! I will always cherish those memories.
I wish you all peace, healing and great memories.

It was a great honor to be loved by Bill. He and Kathy were true friends to me and my family - opening their hearts and Bill opening his home to us when we were in a time of need. He would have done anything to help us and seemed to know that what we needed most was friendship. He always had time to help anyone in any way, he could come up with something witty to make you laugh if you were down, and he loved deeply from the heart. I will greatly miss him in my life.

I am sadden by our loss of Bill.
He and I spent many supportive times together.
From working at the County, cheering on the Buffalos Bills, walking Rudy, eating dinners prepared by Cathy followed by evenings of playing games...
I am so grateful and appreciative of Bill's help during my husband's illness and after his death.
My life was blessed very much by Bill being in it.
My heart goes out to everyone of you.
Hugs and Love,
Cindy Nichols

We are so very sorry for your loss. Bill was a very special friend to my brother, Bill Nichols, as well as the rest of our family. He was the nicest fellow and gentleman. We loved his sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye. Bill did so much good for people in his understated way. We were blessed to know him. His light will never go out. Sending you all love and hugs. Peace be with you.
