Obituary of Stephen J. Derezinski

Stephen J/ (Steve) Derezinski of Penfield (1939-2015) passed away December 24, 2015 in his home with his loving wife by his side after a challenging battle with cancer at the age of 76. He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Aili Derezinski of Dearborn, MI, and his first wife, Joan Hopkins Derezinski. Steve is survived by his wife, Annette Coffey; loving family; Jody (& Richard) Williams, Stephen J. (& Linda) Derezinski, Stacy (& John) Havens, Melissa Coffey (Daniel Root) and Alyson (& Daniel) Honer; and 11 loving grandchildren. Steve was a prolific inventor, with many patents at Kodak to his name, employing the skills of a gifted innovator to improve production lines. He was active in the Society of Plastics Engineers and was awarded a degree of Fellow of the Society. He was an avid bicyclist, competing in many Empire State Games and other masters tournaments, and was a member of a triathlon team. But above all he was a generous creator and woodworker. Lasting memories of wooden furniture, beautiful bookshelves, decks, beds, jewelry boxes, and toy boxes he built still fill the homes of friends/neighbors/relatives and will last many lifetimes-a wonderfully lasting memory and gift to the world. There are no calling hours. Services will be held: Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church in Penfield, NY. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make something-anything-and give it away to someone you love. For this was Steve's greatest gift to the world as a prolific and gifted creator who was very generous in giving away his creations. So much love was given and felt. He will be missed terribly.
