Margaret ‘Ann’ Nelson (Murphy)

Fairport: February 17, 2024 at age 89.  Predeceased by her husband, Edward; infant son, John; her parents, John and Rose Murphy; 1 brother, John Murphy.  Ann is survived by her children, Michael Nelson and Mary (Alan) Priest; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Hannah Priest, Aiden, Dylan and Blake Nelson; sister, Rosemary Murphy, Peace River, Alberta, Canada; sister-in-law, Nancy Murphy; several other sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law; many nieces and nephews and dear family friends.

Ann was a lifelong resident of Fairport.  She was the fourth generation to live in her family homestead, where she lived until her passing. Ann loved spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren.  She was a regular at all of their sporting events

The family would like to thank the East 700 Wing of Highland Hospital for the wonderful care they gave our mother in her last days.

Ann’s Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 2nd, at 11:00 am at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Avenue, Fairport, NY 14450.  Spring Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fairport.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations, in Ann’s name, to the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642.
