Obituary of Stephen V. D'Orazio

Stephen Vincent D’Orazio Sr, 67, of Penfield, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 25th, 2024. Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deborah, and their three children and families, Stefanie (Joe Fingler), Michael D’Orazio, Stephen Jr. (Chelsey D’Orazio) and two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Liliana Fingler. He is also survived by his father, Angelo D’Orazio, sisters, Michelle Leone and Paula (Brian Luke), sister-in-law, Dorrie (John Duffy), brother-in-law, Nick (MaryLou Salatino), and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Beatrice D'Orazio, his mother-in-law, Eleanor Salatino; father-in-law Nicholas Salatino, and brother-in-law, John Leone.

His family and friends will remember him as the most hard-working, selfless, calm, caring, and optimistic man.  He loved being a part of the community and was involved in many organizations including the Italian Heritage Foundation, East Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Midvale Country Club, and Penfield Little League, to name a few. Steve was the kind of guy that would get up and say, “I get to go to work,” not I have to go to work. He loved to help other people and his job at Lyons National Bank.

He loved his children and made sure to instill his values in them as well as the importance of their education, work ethic, and family. To his wife, he was her everything and she was his amore! Their love story was beautiful, and they forever will be grateful to have recently lived out their lifelong dream of visiting Italy.

Please join us in celebrating his life. Calling hours will be held  Wednesday, January 31 from 4-7 pm at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield.  His Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, 11:00 a.m., St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the American Diabetes Association.
