Obituary of Gregory Paul DiPasquale

Gregory (Greg) Paul DiPasquale (1957-2023)

Greg of Ithaca, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 3rd at the age of 65. He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Judith DiPasquale. Greg will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Renee (Dave) Seibel of Palmyra, PA, brother, Mark (Susannah) DiPasquale of Manchester, MA, his nephews and niece: Mark and Scott Seibel and Isabella and Jack DiPasquale, as well as many relatives and friends.

Greg grew up in Ithaca NY and graduated from Ithaca High School in 1977. He went on to own and manage Gregory Paul Press until the early 90's. After Dataflow purchased the company, Greg stayed on as a dedicated employee for over 25 years. Greg then moved on to Maguire Automotive where he found many friends and became a valued member of the team. In all of his positions, Greg was devoted, hardworking, and dependable, with a keen eye for details. Greg always went the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction because “The customer deserves it.”

Greg was involved in several service organizations. He was a highly regarded member of Lion’s Club International for 21 years where he served as President and on the board of directors. He was an active member of Kiwanis Club International for 6 years where he helped with numerous service projects. Members of the club shared that “He was always willing to help with whatever was needed. He was a gentle soul with a smile for everyone and was so positive about his world. Greg was so easy to love".  Greg also enjoyed his 24-year membership with the Elks Club of Ithaca.

Greg’s greatest passion was building models - airplanes, ships and rockets. He was considered a master model builder by many and always had several projects in process, many of which took hundreds of hours to complete. Greg was an active member of the Ithaca Radio Control Society, Dundee Flying Club, and the Upstate Research Rocketry Group. He loved racing his remote-controlled boats, flying his RC airplanes, launching his rockets, and won multiple awards over the years.

In August of 2022 Greg was diagnosed with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer, a very aggressive and fast-growing cancer.  Greg was determined to keep living as long as possible and became an incredible advocate for his health. His drive to complete some of his cherished projects kept him fighting and we are grateful that we were blessed with another year with him.

Calling hours are Wednesday, October 25th from 4-7pm at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd, Penfield, NY. Elks Tribute Service at 6:00-6:15 pm.

A funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, October 26th at the same location. The Interment will be immediately after at Oakwood Cemetery, 1975 Baird Rd, Penfield, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations to one of the cancer units where he received care would be appreciated.
