Obituary of Douglas R Sharp

Sharp, Douglas R.
Rochester, NY: Douglas R Sharp, 78, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 30, 2023.  Doug was born April 6, 1945, in Rochester, the son of the late Robert and Gertrude (Bullman) Sharp.  He worked at Eastman Kodak, in Rochester as an international customer service representative supporting customers in Japan, Germany and many other countries.  Doug entered the Army National Guard in 1967 and served in New York ultimately landing with the 401st Civil Affairs Division out of Webster NY.  Doug achieved Sargent E6 status and served in the first Persian Gulf war.  He was a member of the Braman American Legion Post #1229 in Penfield NY.  After retiring from Eastman Kodak in 1999, he worked various jobs and volunteered at the Friendly Home which was very near and dear to him.  He was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed sports, especially baseball and hockey, and played both sports for many years.  He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Debra E. Sharp of Penfield, children, Kim (Tim) Albert, Tracey Testa, Corey (Brian Magee) Sharp, Lori (Dave) Schick, Greg (Olivia Knight) Thrush, eight grandchildren, and his brother Edward (Linda) Sharp along with a nephew and niece. 
Calling hours will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Jennings, Nulton, and Mattle Funeral Home 1704 Penfield Rd, Penfield, NY from 2pm-5pm.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday October 22, 2023 at Faith Lutheran, 2576 Browncroft Blvd Rochester NY.  Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent in Doug’s honor to the National Scleroderma Foundation 59 Front Street Binghamton NY 13905 or to the Warrior Salute Veterans Program at 860 Hard Rd, Webster NY 14580
