Obituary of John F. Girvin

On July 5th, Johnny passed peacefully while sleeping in the arms of the love of his life. He was a distinguished Tool and Die maker who started as a journey man.  In his career he mastered several advanced computer languages and managed the employees and machines of a multi-million dollar company. Achieving the incredible status of being one of the top tool and die masters in the country.

John was a man who lived life simply, showing the world and his family the true meaning of love without boundaries. He was a man that knew what he wanted just like he knew the girl he met in high school was the love of his life and married her. To have a love that spanned 60 years together.

He would sacrifice with no self-interest for the ones he loved. He had such joy in the simple things of life like feeding his chipmunks that became his pets. At the end he said that he didn’t have anything else on his bucket list that he needed to still do. He had all he ever wanted and did the things he loved and wanted. That is a rare thing to be at peace with life and how one lived it.

He touched so many lives and made each person better just by knowing him. He would do anything for anyone and expect nothing in return. He was a man of honor, man of compassion, man of love in action and way of life.

The world has lost a beautiful soul.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation hours on Tuesday, July 11th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield.

My father was the most amazing man that I had the privilege to call my Dad and best friend. He was the one I went to for advice. The one I went to when I was scared. He was my rock and teacher. His love, knowledge and principles made me the person I am today and I’m forever grateful. I will miss you with every breath I take for the rest of my life. I love you Dad Always and Forever.-- Kimberly
