Obituary of Carole Ann Clevenger

In the early morning hours of Friday, June 30th, while holding her first granddaughter's hand, and after a day of being surrounded by her closest loved ones, the angels welcomed Carole A Clevenger of Rochester, New York. Nana, as she was lovingly referred to, was 81 years young.

Carole was born on Sunday, January 25th, 1942 to Sidney and Viola (Hill) Baker of Fairport, New York. She went to Fairport High School where she met and married Larry Clevenger, and had two children, Laura and Tina.

Nana will live on through her two daughters, her many grandchildren, and her two siblings, Laura Venticinque, Tina Velasquez, Nicole Clevenger, Courtney Clevenger and her children, Essence, Joshua, Carlos, and Garnet, and Dave Baker and Sue Terwilliger. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends whose lives she has touched and will sadly miss her. We are hoping she will find her brother Donny once again.

Community members might remember her from her days as a carhop, working at the Carroll’s Corp (now Burger King) in Webster, the Country Club Diner and Gitsis Restaurant downtown, dancing the night away at the Winfield and the Penny Arcade, and as a social butterfly around the Monroe Avenue area.

Carole will be remembered as a great dancer, the coolest grandmother, accepting of all, and someone who always wanted to help others and stop to pet a sweet pup.

We would appreciate all whose hearts are full of love to join us in celebrating the glorious life of our beloved Nana, Carole.

Carole’s calling hours will be 5 to 7pm this Thursday, July 6th at the Jennings Funeral Home in Penfield, 1704 Penfield Road. Her celebration will be the following day, Friday, July 7th, from 11am to 12pm in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, or by giving of yourself in some way to help another.
