Obituary of Henry G Utz

Henry George Utz of Penfield went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2015 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn; daughters, Kathy (David) Fitelson and Karen (Chuck) VanBell; sons, Daniel (Barbara) and David (Susan); 12 grandchildren, Ben, Becky, Phillip, Melissa, Daniel (Courtney), Michael, Ryan, Katie, Adam, Zachary, Samuel and Elijah; 3 great-grandchildren, Ava, Conner and Harper; sister, Margaret (George) Isselhard. Henry was a member of Browncroft Community Church where he spent many years singing in the choir, volunteering in children's ministries or anywhere that was needed, even if it was just stacking chairs, putting away hymnals or emptying garbage. He was an avid golfer, playing for over 45 years in the same Kodak golf league, Area 7. He retired from Kodak after 44 years. Henry served in the US Army during the Korean War. He kept a meticulous yard, an organized garage and loved shopping for a good bargain. He enjoyed watching baseball, never picking a favorite team, just rooting for the underdog. Henry was a quiet man with a warm heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family wished to express deep felt thanks to the girls at St. Ann's Home and Heart and the staff on the Palliative Care Floor 4-1200 at Strong Hospital. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service, March 22nd 2PM at Browncroft Community Church, 2530 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester, NY 14625.
