Carl J. Richane Obituary
Carl passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026. He was born in Venezuela on February 25, 1940,moving to Rochester, NY when he was two years old. Predeceased by his brother, Kamal Richane, his sister, Eleanor Stauffer, his brother-in-law, James Stauffer and his mother, Atfah Richane.
Survived by his loving wife, Laurie Richane; his daughter, Holly (Curtis) Jacobs; his grandson, HendrixJacobs; his sister, Elaine Richane; his brother, Robert (Susan) Richane and many nieces and nephews. Carl graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in general science. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry working in the lab at Pennwalt Corporation. When Pennwalt was sold to the British firm Fisons PLC, Carl continued working for Fisons, advancing his career and retiring as Director of Regulatory Compliance. Carl enjoyed playing tennis, skiing and golf, forming friendships that lasted his lifetime. His monthly poker group was another favorite activity. Carl also took pleasure in attending the theater, gardening,reading (history and science were of special interest), and learning the art of woodworking and woodturning. Family and friends were the recipients of his creations.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 20 from 12 noon to 1:30pm with a memorial service immediatelyfollowing at Jennings Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield NY 14526.
