Sharon Lou McMeekin (Crosby), age 79, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, in Rochester, New York.

Born in Johnson City, New York, Sharon moved to Rochester at the age of 18, where she built a life centered on family and creativity. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Crosby; her mother, Lucile (Gutheil) Crosby; and her stepmother, Lorraine Crosby.

Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Robert McMeekin; her children, Cherri (Frank) Witscheber, Heather (Tim) Smith, and Michael; her grandchildren, Joseph, Amanda, Adam, Matthew, Todd, Ashley, and Ryan; and her great-granddaughter, Mia.

Sharon had a passion for crafting and could often be found sharing her talents at craft shows throughout Western New York. She was a phenomenal cook who was always ready to host gatherings. She taught her daughters and granddaughter cross stitching, crocheting, and scrapbooking.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, April 19th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield, NY 14526.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to Alzheimer’s research.
